Cookshack Food Grade Wood Pellets used in FEC smokers

Environmentally Friendly

  • Cookshack Pellets are produced from recycled sawdust and no trees are cut to make them.
  • Naturally occurring lignin in the wood binds

    the pellets into their shape.

  • Not all pellets will produce the same results or are manufactured with the same low environmental impact. Use Cookshack pellets to ensure you are being as green as possible.

Health Department Friendly

  • Pellets are a processed wood product in 20 pound bags that are easily stored indoors or out.
  • They do not create a home for rodents or bugs like are found in wood piles.
  • Clean burning and easy clean to clean. Only 8 oz. of ash is produced for every 40 lbs. of pellets burned unlike messy stick burners.
  • Cookshack pellets are 100% wood, food-grade pellets specifically produced for use with food.

Flavor Friendly

  • Pellets eliminate creosote and gas flavor in the smoked meats.
  • Mix flavors in the pellet hopper to create a signature profile.
  • Multiple flavors of pellets to choose from.

Todd John

Todd John at the 2012 American Royal with his twin FEC100’s

Why do these award-winning pitmasters prefer Cookshack Pellet Smokers?  Todd Johns of Plowboys considers his 2 FEC100’s a member of his cooking team.  They handle his fire management.  He can cook by himself, and he does not have to worry that his temperatures will not be consistent.  He can roll into a contest at 6 pm, prep his meats and be ready to cook quickly.  The Fast Eddy’s by Cookshack Pellet smokers put you in control so you can concentrate on your flavor profiles and making those turn-in boxes!

Wood Sample Kit

20lb Wood Sample Kit

The Cookshack Wood Sample Kit (WD100) includes 5 lbs. each hickory, mesquite, apple and cherry for a total of 20 lbs. of wood.

Hickory chunks are a traditional favorite, with a sweet smoke that is good for just about everything. Mesquite chunks are a brasher, bolder flavor, which are great with beef. Apple wood chunks are a mild fruitwood, that pair well with pork and poultry. Cherry wood chunks have a strong flavor. Try it with duck or prime rib of beef.

If

you are unsure how much wood to use in your Cookshack smoker, we recommend erring on the side of too little wood when loading your smoker. A small piece of wood puts out an amazing amount of smoke. If you don’t get as much smoke as you want, you can always add more smoke with the next load. If you put too much smoke on a load, you will not want to eat the food! Too little is better than too much. Cookshack wood chunks are approximately 2″x2″x3″. Chunks of this size are necessary to supply enough wood resin to expose to the

heat source for good flavoring.

Just add them to your wood box and get smoking today!
